NELLY THE ELEPHANT

Amazing Musical Facts
In 1957 Nelly (National Elephant Liberation League Yeadon- Marxist-Lenninist) was formed as a militant
off-shoot from the RSPCA. This song was the organisations anthem...a rousing call to freedom for elephants everywhere.

The early years were tough but from the 1970s the elephants were "slipping their chains" everywhere and going off to live normal lives.

Nelly herself has even taken out a subscription to face book (Name: Nelly Le Phant ). A quick search on google helped me identify other elephants living out apparently normal lives in the community eg T. Runk in Swaffam, Norfolk. Other animals have followed the clarion call. There is Anna Conda in Coventry and a Mr C. Lion in Leicester (for some reason the midlands andf north Norfolk seem common).
